Login normal user as root with telnet

This is simple old way to login on the server as normal user and become to root with telnet, and this is not recommended for produce server, this guide dedicate for jury on the competition computer network, don’t make participant become foolish with your exam like this.

1. Install telnet
   > sudo apt-get install xinetd telnetd
2. Add telnet service on xinetd
   > touch /etc/xinetd.d/telnet
   > ----- add this script -----
     service telnet
     {
       disable = no
       flags = REUSE
       socket_type = stream
       wait = no
       user = root
       server = /usr/sbin/in.telnetd
       log_on_failure += USERID
     }
3. Add user where to add as root on telnet
   > adduser wedus
4. Edit user wedus as root group
   > nano /etc/passwd
   > find  : wedus:x:1001:1001:,,,:/home/wedus:/bin/bash
   > change: wedus:x:0:0:,,,:/home/wedus:/bin/bash
5. Add pts/0 - 9 in /etc/securetty (0-9 its just to root terminal number can opened)
   > nano /etc/securetty
   >--- add this ---
   > pts/0
   > pts/1
   > ...
   > pts/9
6. Restart xinetd service
7. Login via Windows using telnet as user wedus
   > ubuntu login: wedus
   > Password:
   > root@ubuntu:~#

Done… foolish way to remote a server x_x
